Who are you?

I am Carlotta, a yoga student and teacher with German and Canarian roots, deeply inspired by the transformative power of yoga. My journey began with my mother—seeing the profound change yoga brought into her life sparked my own passion for the practice. Through yoga, I strive to contribute in my own way to making the world and our connections a more beautiful, compassionate place.

Why should Yoga be shared with the world?

Yoga should be shared with the world because it has the power to create a ripple effect of positivity, healing, and transformation. When we cultivate balance and inner peace within ourselves, we contribute to a more harmonious world. Taking time for personal practice is not selfish; rather, it allows us to move through life with more awareness, compassion, and presence, positively influencing those around us. By integrating yoga into daily life, we learn to listen to our bodies with honesty, practice self-compassion, and find both strength and ease. Through breath, movement, and mindfulness, yoga invites us to connect deeply with ourselves. As we cultivate inner peace, we naturally extend that peace outward, making yoga a gift that benefits not only the individual but the world as a whole.

What do you teach and what is your teaching style?

My classes are designed as little journeys, offering gentle yet empowering flows that encourage self-exploration and balance. Breath plays a central role in my teaching, as I see it as a precious guide that connects movement and awareness. I love to incorporate pranayama and short meditations here and there, providing moments of stillness amidst the flow. My goal is to give impulses in each class—something to reflect on and perhaps integrate into daily life. I encourage my students to be honest with their bodies, to push themselves only to a point that is beneficial, and to recognize that their practice is for them, not against them. My classes are accompanied by music, creating a dynamic yet calming atmosphere. Students have described my teaching as both challenging and deeply relaxing, helping them find strength, stillness, and greater mobility. Ultimately, I strive to make yoga a practice that supports and nourishes, both on and off the mat.

What is your favorite Asana?

My favorite asana is Sirsasana (Headstand) because it requires me to be fully present and connected to my body. It acts as an instant mirror, reflecting how I feel in the moment—whether I am grounded and balanced or in need of more inner stability. Beyond its physical benefits, Sirsasana offers a powerful shift in perspective, almost like a reset for both mind and body. It also serves as the perfect reminder that true stability comes from a balance of strength and softness-engaging with control while staying open and adaptable.
